Positive Pressure CBRN Filters and Systems

Hunter Manufacturing Company offers a full range of CBRN systems and components that provide positive pressure collective protection against Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (CBRN) agents to vehicles, vans, portable and permanent shelters.

Hunter Manufacturing Company is a leading manufacturer of medium airflow collective protection filters in use by the US military today, from the radially configured M48A1 canister and the M98, 200-cfm filter set to the M23A1 / M24 panel filter sets. Airflows in this product line include 100, 150 and 200-cfm filters. Most systems employ multiple filters of the same value to create 300, 400, 600 and 1000-cfm systems. Users can expend the use of the systems into large installations by employing multiple systems supplying filtered air into a single or multiple plenums and/or HVAC air handling units to create systems as large as 60,000-cfm.

The FFA (Fan Filter Assembly) family of filtration systems designed and produced by Hunter Manufacturing Company are the system of choice for the US Air Force. The FFA1000-100 (1000 cfm) systems are installed in barracks, hospitals, and other building protection applications as well as the smaller FFA580-100 (600 cfm) units. The FFA400-100 systems are used in portable applications such as the CPEMEDS.

Each Hunter Manufacturing Company CBRN filter and filter system has been rigorously tested and field proven by the US military. They are installed in vehicles, ships, shelters, and military bases worldwide, and recently adopted for building protection for various Homeland Defense applications.

All Hunter Manufacturing Company gas filters are made with ASZM-TEDA 12 x 30 carbon. Other medias could be used upon request.

The protective entrances (Air Locks) are used for safely transitioning personnel from the protected shelter to the contaminated area and return without compromising the shelter protection integrity. This Air Lock allows for shift changes, evacuation, and continuous operations of the shelter. Inside the air locks the user has the ability to remove his contaminated clothing and mask. The air lock also provide for a safe purge location. The Air locks collapse for storage and safe transportation into and from the operation zone.

Each of the filter systems and filters listed on the reverse are described in greater detail on separate information sheets. Please contact Hunter Manufacturing Company for further information about positive pressure CBRN systems or our other products.
